CMC-Ontario is pleased to announce the Ontario provincial government recently updated its Vendor of Record (VOR) for General Management Consulting to include the Certified Management Consultant (CMC) designation as a desirable credential. The updated VOR was posted on MERX on Friday, June 29th. Please see Appendix F General Role Descriptions and Appendix G Specific Role Descriptions on pages 124 and 128 of the VOR for more information.
This is a groundbreaking accomplishment for the organization and a huge step forward for CMC members throughout Canada. The listing elevates the designation, increasing its value in the public arena and gives our CMC members a competitive advantage when applying for government consulting opportunities in Ontario.
CMC-Ontario, its volunteers and CMC-Canada staff have initiated many activities over the years in a concerted effort to attain this goal. Most recently, CMC-Ontarios volunteer Advocacy Committee led by Anne Bachinski, CMC held a procurement event with Neil Sentance, ADM, Supply Chain Management, Ontario Shared Services and Ontario consultants to discuss changing procurement practices and policies within the Ontario government. Other activities over the years include: submitting a formal response to the Ontario governments "Draft RFP for General Management Consulting Services" and meeting with members of the government on a number of occasions on procurement issues.
CMC-Ontario would like to thank its members for all their hard work. Special recognition goes to CMC-Ontario President Lynn Bennett, CMC who led the charge over the past year to bring this significant accomplishment to fruition. With support from CMC-Canada staff, Lynn has worked constructively and cooperatively with the government of Ontario and the results are hugely gratifying.
We look forward to the inclusion of the CMC designation on additional government VORs moving forward.
