University of Waterloo

In partnership with CMC-Canada, the University of Waterloo now offers students enrolled in the Master of Business, Entrepreneurship, and Technology (MBET) the ability to satisfy the educational requirements necessary for obtaining the Certified Management Consulting (CMC) designation. Project Management and Fundamentals of Management Consulting are now offered as additional courses within the 12 month long MBET program.

Grenoble Graduate School of Business

CMC-Canada has partnered with the Grenoble Graduate School of Business (GGSB) to offer CMC-Canada members a unique international learning opportunity.


Through the partnership, CMC-Canada members have fast-track access to the acclaimed Diploma in Management Consulting (DMC).


The regular program is structured as follows:


Module One: The Management Consultant - Process & Tools. (One week duration.)

Module Two: Corporate Business Process for Consultants. (One week duration.)

Module Three: Developing Consulting Expertise. (One week duration.)

Major Consulting Project: Completed for an EU-based client under academic supervision.


Under the terms of the agreement with the Graduate School, we are pleased to announce that Canadian CMCs in good standing will receive exemptions from Module One and the Major Consulting Project by virtue of having attained their CMC designation and delivering a portfolio of recent consulting activities.


To attain the DMC credential, Canadian CMCs will take the remaining Modules Two and Three during a residency at Grenoble, France.

The Program:

Module Two: Corporate Business Process for Consultants (Week One)

  • Modern global business processes, challenges and opportunities from both the consultant's and manager's perspectives.
  • Understanding organizational growth, evolution and adaption to the surrounding business environment while taking into account the organizations own strategy and constraints.
  • Consulting successes and failures in diverse industries, nations, business structures and cultures.
  • Consulting opportunities in meeting priority business needs, including sustained growth and proper cost structures within an international context.
  • The diverse elements of international consultancies, including M&A, turnarounds, internal consulting, client-consultant issues, and the impact of recent corporate scandals on the global consulting industry.

Module Three: Developing Consulting Expertise (Week Two)

  • Organizational Behavior and Change Management theories and applications in an international setting. Topics include: organizational development; adapting the organization to the strategy; structuring and restructuring organizations through corporate growth; implementing organizational change; managing conflict and resistance to change; and creating a learning organization.
  • The critical role of creativity in today's business and the skills, techniques, and conditions that can be developed to foster creativity both in one's practice and the client's organization.
  • Managing a Successful Consulting Practice in an international context. Topics include current best practices, differentiating consulting services, maintaining ethics and professional integrity.
