I’m currently doing planning for next year, and the information garnered from your study is proving to be incredibly useful. Compared to past studies I have read, it is much more real-world oriented and Canada-focussed, with practical analyses based on firm size and helpful discussion around the topic of discounting. | Now in Stock! Management Consulting: An Introduction to the Methodologies, Tools and Techniques of the Profession is about setting out the fundamental standards of the profession in Canada. If practicing management consultants want to be identified collectively as a profession, it is important that all share a common essential base of knowledge and skills, share consistent definitions of common consulting terminology and share a common professional approach to and process for all clients. It is anticipated that this Common Body of Knowledge should set the standards and become a common denominator in our industry so that clients can see and experience the consistency expected of a profession. First copy free to members (mass mailing week of April 19, 2010), additional copies are $100. New members automatically receive a copy by mail when they join. |

| Certified Management Consultants are bound by a Uniform Code of Professional Conduct. Recent events in the consulting marketplace in Canada and the U.S. have identified an acute need for transparency and openness in the relationships between consultants and the public officials/clients they serve. Much of what we call business development, relationship management or good consulting may be now classified as lobbying. Guidelines, and in some cases legislation, impacting the traditional way government has interacted with the consulting community have been put in place by many levels of government. CMC-Canada members need to clearly understand these issues and modify their approach (in the face of these new guidelines and legislation) to maintain the ethical integrity of Certified Management Consultants. CMC-Canada commissioned a White Paper and slide deck on the ‘Lobbyist’ legislative requirements between jurisdictions (federal, provincial, municipal) and their impact on CMCs. This report addresses the perspectives of independent, small and mid-large size management consulting firms. *If you are a Member please login and click on the title of this publication to receive your free copy* |
