Description
This CMC-Ontario –GTA Chapter Government Special Interest Group event
is hosted by
the Toronto Board of Trade Infrastructure Committee.

Join the CMC-Ontario –GTA Chapter Government Special Interest Group (SIG) to share in the amazing vision of one of the key sources of public sector investment over the next 25 years!

Many of you already know about the current Presto program to allow for seamless travel across the GTHA - from Hamilton to Lake Simcoe to the eastern boarders of Durham Region. The Big Move is the most ambitious long-term transportation plan on the books in North America; new transportation projects that amount to two billion dollars annually over the next 25 years. It is the largest public transit expansion in half a century.

Metrolinx plans to build over 1,200 kilometers of rapid transit — more than triple what exists now — so that over 80 per cent of residents in the region will live within two kilometers of rapid transit. Average commute times will decrease, despite an expected 50 per cent increase in population. Toronto has had a leading regional transportation network in the past – and GTA will have one again!
