Solid overall gains
Against a backdrop of economic uncertainty and intense competition, the Canadian market for management consulting has made solid gains. Industry revenues rose from $9.2 billion in 2010 to an estimated $10.0 billion in 2012: 4.6% compound annual growth (2.1% in real terms, excluding inflation).
Big firms continue to leverage scale, brand and financial muscle, as well as absorb smaller players through mergers and acquisitions. Revenues are becoming more concentrated: larger firms (>100 million revenue) now earn 80% of total revenues, a share that has climbed progressively since 2008.
Our 'Engage and Promote' strategy focuses on three critical initiatives that will help elevate the Certified Management Consultant (CMC) designation and provide solid benefits to our members. This Annual Report details these initiatives -- Building Awareness, Knowledge, Continuing Professional Development -- as well as providing the Association's financial statments, and giving updates on a great year for CMC-Canada and its Institutes and Chapters. Thank you to all who volunteered their time and efforts in 2012!
