I am a Certified Management Consultant or CMC - a hard won professional designation. My work is primarily with technology and industrial companies. I am brought in to help clarify issues, and find root causes that lead to logical action items within budget and resources. This is usually for industry, market and competitive analyses which lead to business models, go-to-market plans or new product development or product launches.
I have been fortunate to lead a broad range of consulting engagements; competitive analyses, business feasibility/revenue models, business,technology, IP policy/planning, market strategy, new product development, positioning and launch plus digital/social media strategy engagements. Working all over North America and Europe and consulting with so many companies in different stages of development has given me a broadened understanding of business models and the problems companies face. I have worked with fibre optics, RFID (active and passive), wireless, sensors, M2M, locating technologies, mobile app development, software/SAAS, agriculture, mining, and equipment manufacture industries, to name a few.

With digital marketing strategies: it's not just about social media - its about integrating marketing communications across platforms and owning your web space. I start with a competitor and client audit, policies and procedures then work with the client to hone in on what is needed and what success means. I love trying new online tools and apps for monitoring, reporting, contesting etc.
I speak regularly at conferences and, two times a year, I am the "Problem-based Learning" coach for the live consulting case at Royal Roads University's MBA program.
