Bio

Since 1984, Dawn has consulted to management in areas that positively contribute to organizational performance. Functional areas of specialization include: organizational excellence, strategic and business planning, marketing,  and corporate training. She has worked across the public, private, and non-profit sectors with small, medium, and large organizations, with particular expertise in the service sector.

In addition to consulting, Dawn has been involved in a number of entrepreneurial ventures and served as a Board member with a variety of professional and industry associations, as a Public Member for two professional associations, and as a Judge of prestigious provincial, national and international award programs.

Dawn has been recognized by her peers with the Fellow Certified Management Consultant designation (CMC Alberta), Quality & Excellence Builder Award (Quality Council of Alberta) and the Alto Award for Innovative Marketing (Travel Alberta).

In 2010, Dawn authored a publication (Organizational Excellence Framework) that integrates leading global excellence models and provides implementation guidelines for the user. The publication is accompanied by a toolkit that includes: scenario games, holistic and modular workshops, an automated assessment and reporting tool and a train-the-trainer program . The toolkit aligns beautifully with the CMC BOK, consulting (business) process and client organization quest for improvement. As a result of this work, Dawn has published papers in reputable journals and presented at a variety of national and international conferences. Today, the tools in the toolkit are being used by professionals in over 55 countries and the workshops have an overall average satisfaction rating of 93%.

Dawn has served as a representative on the CMC Canada committee that contributed to the development of the ISO 20700 standard for management consulting. Today, she is the representative for Canada on the Global Benchmarking Network and the Organizational Excellence Technical Committee QMD ASQ and is leading the 'first global assessment on the current state of organizational excellence'. The global research study will identify the extent to which organizations have a culture committed to excellence and have  deployed best management practices by size, industry sector and country (region).

Dawn has a passion for excellence and enjoys working with organizations on their journey to excellence and sharing knowledge with colleagues.
