Leading Without A Title
Gone are the days when the 'Manager' title implied an ability to tell people what to do and those people would jump. Gone are the days where individual contributors didn’t have a leadership stake or presence in organizations, but were order-takers.
With the evolution of the term 'Leadership', emerging leaders are being tasked with leading their organizations in a way they never have before. Whether you lead a team of people or lead a function, the concept of leadership remains the same: How can you add to your organization’s success? How can you help drive results? How can you get the best out of yourself and others?
This practical and hands-on session focuses specifically on how to build your leadership brand and create a legacy where you inspire and engage others and yourself, while transforming your organization in remarkable ways.
- Decipher the difference between the concepts of leading and managing;
- Identify key behaviours that allow you to be a successful leader;
- Define the concept of servant leadership and how to live it daily;
- Recognize the key elements of building trust and credibility; and
- Determine strategies for engaging yourself and others to increase your personal leadership brand and effectiveness as a leader.

Speaker: Jodi Zigelstein-Yip
Jodi Zigelstein-Yip is a leader in the HR community and Chief HR Innovator/Founder of Enliven HR Consulting Inc. where she plays a major role in her clients' businesses by delivering innovative, sustainable and strategic HR programs and solutions designed to unleash leadership and employee potential, drive performance, increase organizational effectiveness, and steer business results.
Her expertise is in the creation of unique leadership, employee, and high-potential development initiatives including executive coaching and action-based learning projects, succession planning, and talent assessment programs.
Jodi is a seasoned and dynamic facilitator, recognized by the Institute of Performance and Learning (previously Canadian Society for Training and Development) for design and facilitation of a multi-faceted leadership development program.
Jodi has been featured in the HR Professional Magazine, Canadian Employment Law Today, the National Post and The Globe and Mail. She is often asked to facilitate programs through HRPA including the Authentic Coaching Leader Program. Jodi also MCs and speaks semi-annually at the Toronto Entrepreneurs’ Conference, and was President of HRPA York Region Chapter 2011–2015. During her term, the Chapter was awarded eleven Chapter of Excellence Awards.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellations received in writing on or before September 18 will be refunded the full amount, minus a $10.00 handling fee. No refunds will be issued after September 18. Registrants may send a substitute attendee, with appropriate fee adjustment. Please notify CMC-Canada at least 2 days prior in order to facilitate registration at the event. No credits are given for late notices or "no-shows". In the unlikely case that the event has to be cancelled, registration fees will be fully refunded.
