A Message from the New CMC-Canada National Board Chair, Michael Ennis, FCMC

(en français)

Dear Members of CMC-Canada,

It is a privilege to greet you for the first time as National Board Chair of CMC-Canada. I am honoured to serve in this role and excited to begin this new chapter together with our dedicated members, Certifying Institutes, and partners across the country.

We live in a time of rapid change—technologies like artificial intelligence are transforming how we work, how our clients operate, and how we define value in the consulting profession. At the same time, the demand for ethical, trustworthy, and professional consulting has never been greater. CMCs are uniquely positioned to lead with integrity and deliver results that matter.

My term as Chair will be defined by setting a bold, future-focused direction for our Association. The Board will create a new 2025–2030 Strategic Plan—one that reflects the evolving realities of our profession while staying true to our core values. We will also negotiate a renewed Memorandum of Understanding with our Certifying Institute partners to enhance collaboration, clarify roles, and most importantly, better serve our members.

Geopolitical and economic pressures are prompting Canadians to seek stronger institutions and ethical leadership. There is no better moment for our national community of CMCs to come together, reaffirm our relevance, and grow the next generation of certified consultants. Supporting this growth—through academic outreach, corporate partnerships, and joint initiatives with our CIs—will be our highest priority.

I look forward to working alongside you to build an even stronger, more connected CMC-Canada. Thank you for your commitment to professionalism, continuous learning, and leadership in our field.

Sincerely,

Michael Ennis, FCMC

National Board Chair, CMC-Canada
