– OVERVIEW –
The Management Advisory Service (MAS) program allows eligible small and medium size technology enterprises to access up to 40 hours of business management advice from Certified Management Consultants (CMCs) who meet the program criteria. The program is administered by CMC-Canada and funded by the National Research Council - Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP).
The MAS program ensures that companies supported by NRC-IRAP have access to qualified CMCs to help them deal effectively with management issues that could limit their success. The program will help company management define issues, set priorities and establish action plans.
To sign up for the MAS program you will need to:
Details: We have changed the process of accessing projects as well as addressing issues and answering frequently asked questions.
Therefore, ALL CMCs wishing to participate in the MAS Program will need to take the new training for the 2023/2024 program year to be eligible. The change of process is meant to keep the program accessible to all enrolled and ensure everyone has a chance to participate. As well the change in the training policy is meant to ensure the integrity of the program and allow the program to be reviewed and adjusted to take advantaged of the available technologies.

“There is no other program that I know of which provides so much value to entrepreneurs as the CMC NRC-IRAP MAS program. The MAS program’s allotted 40 hours spent with a certified management consultant can accelerate a new technology company’s trajectory to the next important milestone of development and growth. The program is also beneficial to the CMC consultant in that a significant and lasting client relationship is established, in many ways, beyond the MAS engagement – a win/win for both parties. This is so important in helping innovation flourish and thrive in Canada.”
I have been a longstanding deliverer of MAS programs.
I have very much enjoyed working with a wide range of companies in the agricultural and manufacturing sectors on various types of challenges that they were facing related to growth and market selection/development. These projects have allowed me to apply principles and expertise that I have honed over more than twenty years of strategic management consulting practice.
"As a business advisor and former venture capitalist, it has been my experience that, although many business leaders want to grow their companies, they lack the experience of how to do so. Good advice isn’t just helpful along the way; it is a key starting point to ensure that the right business model, strategy, and plan are in place, to guide implementation and subsequent growth strategies, including raising capital. The NRC-IRAP MAS program is a great way to bring the power of practical advice to business leaders, including those who may be experiencing it for the first time."
"Entrepreneurs / inventors are often challenged to understand, and then to strategize, a "path to market" for their product or service. This is where the NRC-IRAP MAS program can be very helpful to business owners who are in the technology space. The program matches a business owner with a CMC to help them have a better understanding of their market. I’ve been involved with the MAS program for over 20 years and I'm always happy to bring our business knowledge to help businesses in a trusting and confidential manner."
