Farewell Message from Donna Ringrose

Dear Members of CMC-Canada,

It is with a mix of gratitude, pride, and a touch of sadness that I write this message to you in the final days of my tenure as Executive Director of CMC-Canada. Serving this incredible organization and its remarkable members has been one of the most rewarding chapters of my professional journey.

Reflecting on my time with CMC-Canada, I am filled with immense pride for what we have accomplished together. During my tenure, we strengthened collaborative and enduring relationships with our Certifying Institutes, modernized pathways into the CMC designation, and updated our position in the marketplace through impactful relationship building and brand awareness initiatives.

One of the milestones I am particularly proud of is the creation and implementation of CMC-Canada's important advocacy work. Together, we built strong government relations—meeting with dozens of Members of Parliament, authoring position statements, op-eds, and letters to the editor in key national media channels. This culminated in hosting CMC-Canada's first-ever Hill Day, which was a resounding success and a defining moment for our advocacy work.

Our efforts also gained recognition beyond CMC‑Canada: I was honoured to be appointed Co-Chair of the federal Supplier Advisory Committee, an ongoing consultative body whose mandate is to gather insights on procurement issues, supplement government expertise with industry perspectives, identify emerging concerns, recommend procurement process improvements, and enhance government‑supplier relations – work that is extremely important for our members.

We also made tremendous strides with the Management Advisory Services (MAS) program, doubling its size in funding and increasing CMC member participation. This enabled us to support more SMEs across Canada through increased funding and celebrate the program’s 20th milestone anniversary in style.

In addition, we achieved a significant milestone by solidifying our partnerships with key consulting firms across Canada. We worked diligently with internal CMCs at KPMG, EY, and MNP to ensure that ethical and professional practices championed by the CMC designation were recognized and embedded into their day-to-day work.

These accomplishments are a testament to the passion, expertise, and commitment of our members and volunteers who continually strive to make a positive impact. I am deeply grateful for your unwavering support, collaboration, and trust.

Looking into the future, I am confident that CMC-Canada is well-positioned for continued growth, innovation, and influence. The foundations we have built together will serve as a springboard for even greater achievements. Though I am stepping away from this role, I will always remain an advocate and supporter of this exceptional organization.

Thank you for the privilege of serving as your Executive Director. Thank you to the Board Members, the Staff and the countless Volunteers I have worked with over the years - it has truly been an honor to work alongside such talented and passionate professionals. I look forward to staying connected and witnessing the continued success of CMC-Canada and its members.

With heartfelt appreciation and best wishes for the future,

Donna Ringrose
