CMC Pro Bono Supports Economic Validation and Strategic Planning for the HDDP

Ottawa, Ontario – January 2026 – The Canadian Association of Management Consultants (CMC–Canada) is pleased to announce the successful completion of a pro bono advisory engagement for the Humanities Digital Degrees Project (HDDP), an innovative initiative dedicated to expanding access to high‑quality humanities education through advanced digital delivery.

The HDDP was founded to preserve and promote the traditions of humanist study while making them more accessible through modern technology.  Its programs emphasize intensive reading, writing, and speaking; bilingual instruction in English and French; and the cultivation of independent judgement, intellectual honesty, and critical rigour. By lowering barriers to advanced textual study, the HDDP aims to offer students from all backgrounds the opportunity to surpass themselves and prepare for lives of civic engagement and leadership.

The HDDP liaison for this project was Dr. Edward Tilson, an internationally recognized scholar of Renaissance thought whose work has contributed to shaping contemporary understandings of humanism and (post)modernity.

Under the CMC Pro Bono Program, Rodney Evely, FCMC, volunteered his expertise to conduct a rigorous economic validation of the HDDP’s proposed digital architecture and to support the development of a strategic fiscal narrative for government stakeholders. His work included assessing the portal’s technical design as an economic investment, modelling long‑term cost‑benefit scenarios, and providing recommendations on funding allocation and project phasing.

“We are grateful for Rodney’s thoughtful and thorough analysis,” said Dr. Tilson. “His work provides a strong foundation for demonstrating the long‑term value of the HDDP as essential public infrastructure for accessible humanities education.”

“Supporting the HDDP has been deeply meaningful,” said Rodney Evely, FCMC. “The project represents a visionary reimagining of how humanist education can be delivered in the digital age. My goal was to help articulate its economic and societal value in a clear, compelling way.”
